Delusions of Grandeur

details details

The way people’s minds works never ceases to amaze me. For instance, I work in a mental health clinic where we keep a log book of every mental health screen we do. These are filled in by the doctars themselves. They are very lazy about how they fill in the details on these log books and as a result there is a great deal of inconsitency and missing information. Today I was told to generate a report from the log books for several different clinic statistics. This is a task that, other than the rather boring part of typing everything in, would be remarkably easy, except for aforementioned laziness of physicians. Blah.

Anyhow, on a brighter note, I heard from my best friend today. She doesn’t have internet so we’ve started keeping a journal that we switch out and send to each other every month. The idea behind them is to write down all the daily details that would ordinarily go into emails and instant messages that just aren’t important enough for a phone call. Then at the end of each month we mail them to each other and switch off. It’s been a pretty cool idea and has worked rather well so far. I guess it’s like the non-computerized version of a live journal! She said she’ll be sending it back here pretty soon.

Well I suppose i had better get back to entering the log books, I’m about halfway through and there’s still about 17 pages to go.
