Delusions of Grandeur

5 books meme

Posted on: May 23, 2004

Boy did this turn out random! I just grabbed the top four books that I have sitting out to reshelve and the book I’m currently reading, stacked them by size and that’s the order you see them. 🙂

Directions:
1. Take five books off your bookshelf.

2. Book #1 — first sentence

Ireland is a land of poets and legends, of dreamers and rebels.

3. Book #2 — last sentence on page fifty

“No,” said Taggart, “it isn’t.”

4. Book #3 — second sentence on page one hundred

“Draw you knaves, you dogs!”

5. Book #4 — next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty

Tibby started by setting the scene

6. Book #5 — final sentence of the book

“Perfect.”

7. Make the five sentences into a paragraph.

Ireland is a land of poets and legends, of dreamers and rebels. “No,” said Taggart, “it isn’t.” “Draw you knaves, you dogs!” Tibby started by setting the scene. “Perfect.”

8. Feel free to “cheat” to make a better paragraph

Ireland is said to be a land of poets and legends, of dreamers and rebels. Taggart doesn’t think so, and Tibby first challenges him to a duel when he states his opinion, but then decides instead to educate Taggart on the beauty of her native land. By the end of Tibby’s description, Taggart has decided that he was wrong and Ireland is “perfect.”

9. Name your sources
Book 5- The Pelican Brief John Grisham
Book 4- The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Ann Brashares
Book 3- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban J.K. Rowling
Book 2- Atlas Shrugged Ayn Rand
Book 1- Tears of the Moon Nora Roberts

10.Post to your blog and/or a community(or several).
